X Factor has a new Welsh favourite

September 7, 2009

This year’s X Factor has just found itself a new favourite. Lucie Jones from the tiny Welsh village of Pentyrch wowed the programme’s judges with a song that has so often dashed the chances of X Factor hopefuls.

Simon Cowell asked Lucie if she really wanted to sing I Will Always Love You, the Dolly Parton Classic made famous by Whitney Houston. He was obviously glad that she did as he gushed that from this day forward her life was certainly going to change.

Lucie Jones seems to have taken the support of her whole village to the audition in Cardiff with a section of the audience made up of residents from Pentyrch. Posters have also been plastered allover the village declaring: We Love Lucie.

Lucie has already gained four A grades in her A levels and has been accepted to London’s Italia Conti Stage School.

Louise Ryan who is Charlotte Church’s former singing coach has been looking after Lucie’s voice for the past two years. She said that Lucie was modest but with a big personality and the ability to adapt to whatever type of singing she fancied.

Before singing Lucie said that she thought the X Factor could be her ticket out of a tiny village on top of a hill and it seems that the team at the X Factor agrees. The PR machine is already rolling and Lucie and her parents have been told not to say anything about what is going on.

Lucie said that she was extremely excited by everything.
