Woolworths Expands Everyday Mobile Chatterbox Service
March 17, 2010
Woolworths, the supermarket giant, has announced the launch of a new prepaid mobile service, which will allow customers to make more standard calls to other networks. This news comes after the company introduced the Everyday Mobile service last August, which runs on the Optus GSM mobile network. The aim of the service is to offer an easy to use and cheap mobile option.
This newest prepaid option is called the Chatterbox plan, which will be available with the current Everyday Mobile Simple Saver plan. However, this new plan will also allow consumers to get bonus credits for talk and text when their account is recharged. Anytime the customer recharges their account by $30, they will be given a $30 bonus credit. If this recharge is done within 30 days, the remaining credit will simply roll over.
Customers will also be able to get the bonus credit when they recharge their account by $20 and $50. They will be able to recharge online, by phone or at any Woolworths stores, including Big W, Woolworths Supermarkets, Dan Murphy’s, BMS, Dick Smith, Safeway and participating Caltex Woolworths.
Graeme Veitch, the head of Everyday Mobile at Woolworths, says that their entry into the telecommunications industry has been a success. The mobile service has been popular with customers because of its simplicity, he continued. They had received feedback that consumers wanted to talk more for more affordable prices, he said, which is why they are offering this.
Customers have more choice with Chatterbox, Veitch said. He explained that they will get to choose which plan they want, while Chatterbox will still offer the same great rates with a bonus. Woolworths is committed to delivering the best value, he added, and they will continue developing more plans.
