Titan launches digital advertising screens across U.K.

September 16, 2009

Titan is to roll out 100 digital advertising screens in shopping centers across the U.K. from October this year. The decision follows the success of the D6 screens that were erected in Network Rail terminals last autumn.

Analysts Trevor Wood Associates were employed to research shopping malls across the country to find which would be best suited to the digital 6 sheet Transvision screens. The research looked at factors such as shopper demographics and the amount of people passing through shopping centers. The results have helped Titan to target 18 of the top ranked 30 most prestigious shopping centers in the U.K such as Lakeside and Bluewater. The screens are already up in Centre:MK in Milton Keynes.

Titan recently commissioned Kinetic to find out how much more eye-catching digital advertising screens were over the more traditional print versions. The results showed that the high definition 65″ screens held a viewers attention on average for 60% more of the time than print. The ability to animate the image was a major factor in this.

Chief executive of Titan Outdoor UK, Jon Slatkin said that Titan would closely observe reactions to the initial roll out of 100 screens and then work on a second roll out depending on the results. He believes that the company’s success on the rail networks will be emulated in the shopping malls and that the flexibility of the high definition screens through use of remote control to speed up or slow down the pace of the advertising would be extremely attractive to advertisers.
