Tesco Clubcard extra points are catch free
September 14, 2009
The Tesco Clubcard is signed up to by nearly 16 million customers across the U.K. Now it is offering twice the reward points it once did meaning that for every £1 spent customers will receive 2 Tesco points.
When the amount of points you have collected hits 100 then Tesco will give you a voucher worth £1. If it is used to buy goods in the store or at Tesco’s website then these vouchers can be used against almost any product up to their face value (except for items like cigarettes). The points can also be traded in for tokens that allow you to buy goods from companies who are in partnership with Tesco. If one is prepared to a bit of research then Tesco points can be worth up to four times their face value when buying goods and services from partner companies.
The best partners are companies like Pizza Express who will allow you to trade in a £2.50 Tesco voucher for one of their £10 vouchers. Cineworld Cinemas will also allow you to trade in £3 in Tesco vouchers for an adult ticket to be used at one of their theatres.
One of the problems with the voucher trading scheme is that there is no guarantee that a deal available today will be available tomorrow. Some are also skeptical that the doubling up of points will lead to a reduction in their worth. However Tesco denies this is the case and said that the extra points were offered to customers because that’s what Tesco customers wanted.
