Strictly Come Dancing judge branded a disaster by fans

September 21, 2009

The speculation about which show was going to win the ratings war can now come to an end. The X Factor absolutely trounced BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing. However that was not what was concerning fans of the show over the weekend. The newest member of the judging panel, Alesha Dixon is being slammed across internet discussion groups throughout the country. Fans of the show have called her an absolute disaster asking for her to be replaced. They have complained that she offered very little technical comment and advice and that even though she was very nice she brought absolutely nothing to the table.

In a move that will shock the show’s loyal fans, BBC bosses have said that they were very pleased with Alesha’s contribution and have no intention of replacing her. She will stay put for the rest of the series, they said.

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been annoyed at the BBC for replacing original judge Arlene Phillips with Alesha Dixon, prompting many to accuse the BBC of ageism. After Ms. Dixon’s performance as a judge on Friday and Saturday many are calling for the return of Arlene Phillips to the panel.

Alesha Dixon was at home with her mother on Sunday, who refused to comment on her daughter’s reaction to the public’s negative reaction other than to say she was very upset. One of her friends told reporters that she was devastated.

Viewing figures for the X Factor peaked at 10.7 million but those for Strictly Come Dancing only managed to hit 8.7 million at their peak.
