Stella McCartney named best dressed celebrity for 2009
November 6, 2009
Stella McCartney, fashion designer and daughter of Beatle Paul McCartney has just scooped the prize for best dressed woman of the year from magazine Harper’s Bazaar. The thirty-three year old clothes designer was voted to the number one spot by a panel consisting of designers such as Christian Louboutin, Roland Mouret and Christopher Kane. Mouret said that he chose Stella McCartney because she was able to dress honestly for her husband and herself. He went on to say that her designs were what women wanted to wear and a reflection of the values of her mother Linda McCartney.
The judges all said that their decisions to choose the best dressed celebrities of 2009 were based around those who chose to define themselves as individuals through their fashion decisions. Amongst the other front runners was Alexa Chung who snapped up third place and model Yasmin LeBon as well as artist Tracey Emin.
McCartney is well respected in the world of fashion for creating clothes that are not only extremely worthy of the world’s catwalks but are also accessible to those who wish to look gorgeous on the high street.
