Cheryl Cole’s X Factor performance goes down very well with Simon Cowell

Sheryl Cole’s performance in front of the X Factor judges and audience at the weekend was labeled incredible by fellow judge Simon Cowell. He said that he knew how difficult it must have been for the Girls Aloud singer to move from behind the judge’s desk and onto the stage. He continued to gush by saying that he thought the song would top next week’s singles chart.
There was a rather more mixed review of Cole’s performance from members of the public. One audience member said that her vocals had started off rather shakily but that it all came together once Cole no longer had to do any singing and simply mime to a backing track.
The song Fight For This Love is the singer’s solo debut. Cole has said that she had been nervous all week about singing on X Factor. Initially she said that the other members of Girls Aloud would not be permitted to watch the performance as they would make her too nervous, however some members of the band were in the audience along with her husband Ashley Cole.
To add to her nerves Cole was sharing the bill with diva, Whitney Houston. It appeared that Whitney Houston also chose to sing over pre-recorded vocals. At one point it looked as though the singer’s first appearance in the U.K. in twelve years might reveal a little more than expected when one of the straps on her silver dress snapped.
