Sex Pistol says that Jedward have a place on British music scene

November 27, 2009

John Lydon, the outspoken former member of punk band The Sex Pistols has told radio audiences that he admires Katie Price’s ability to have done absolutely nothing with her life and that ousted X Factor act Jedward had a place in the British music scene.

Lydon said that the Irish twins were ridiculous in his opinion but that the music scene needed terrible acts so that the ones worth paying attention to could stand out from the other dross. He said that he was a supporter of competition from truly awful bands as it allowed decent acts to shine out.

When talking about Katie Price who he had been a contestant alongside in the 2004 series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Lydon suggested that she probably realized now that most people in the country hated her. Ms. Price quit the show after viewers continually voted for her to take part in the show’s bushtucker trials. Lydon did however respect the fact that she had done well for herself considering she was just a coat-hanger.

When talking about being witness to the growing romance between Katie Price and Peter Andre on the show Lydon said that it was a lovely thing in the same way that watching mushrooms grow on a rotting log is a lovely thing.

Lydon has recently put back together his band Public Image Limited and intends to go out on tour with a series of live shows over the next month.

I’d like to see John in there now. He’d get on well with Gino and Stuart Manning. They could be quite a trio
