Question Time was a useful recruitment tool say BNP

The BBC has found itself questioning whether or not it really was a good decision to allow leader of the BNP, Nick Griffin have a platform for his parties views on Question Time last week. The BNP have praised the BBC for allowing them free advertising time on the show. They said that during the European Elections they had been forced to spend around £500,000 on advertising themselves and were extremely pleased that the BBC had allowed them to do the same practically for free.

Simon Bennett who is in charge of the BNP’s website said that in just eight hours the party had managed to get about a quarter of the amount of the enquiries it had during the whole of the European Elections. The party says that 9,000 people have called them with 6,000 wishing to sign up to receive more information and 3,000 wishing to pledge their allegiance.

The BBC have tried to divert attention away from the fact that they may have provided a platform for fascist views by saying that it congratulates its staff for pulling in over eight million viewers and continues to feel that it made the correct decision in allowing Griffin to appear.

Griffin says that his rubbish performance on the show was down to the fact that he thought the other members of the panel were ganging up on him and being bullies.
