Prime Minister insists that Jedward have talent

November 20, 2009

Whether you love them or hate them X Factor finalists Jedward have certainly got the nation talking. Leading politicians are even being brought into the debate with Gordon Brown saying that although he previously said that he was not a great fan of the twin’s singing abilities he did have to admit that they had talent in other areas. He went on to say that he watched the show regularly with his children and that although he could not offer any predictions on who was going to win, he and the rest of his family had to admit that Stacey Solomon was one of their favourites. He went on to say that his sons liked Daryl and Stacey the most out of the remaining contestants. Downing Street has since said that although there is no contestant called Daryl on the show Gordon Brown was actually referring to finalist Danyl Johnson.

The Prime Minister also said that he was aware that he had probably burnt his bridges with the twins after his comments on their singing.

Following the Prime Minister’s comments about the Grimes brother’s inability to hold a tune the Labour Party produced a poster on which Tory leader David Cameron along with George Osborne were portrayed as John and Edward with a slogan suggesting that the country will not be laughing if the Conservatives manage to get back into power at the next election.

David Cameron has also joined the discussions by saying that he found the pair’s performances each week quite addictive.
