Paul McCartney announces dates for European tour
October 22, 2009
Paul McCartney has just announced that he will be setting off on his first tour of Europe in five years. The ex-Beatle plans to visit Dublin, Cologne, Arnhem, Paris, Berlin and Hamburg and says that he will finish in London on 22nd December. The London venue will be the O2 Arena and will be for one night only. Paul McCartney plans to kick off his seven night tour by heading back to Hamburg where the Beatles started playing in local pubs before their phenomenal rise to fame.
Paul McCartney said that he was extremely excited about returning to where it all began and ending just before Christmas in front of British fans. The Good Evening Europe Tour will see Sir Paul returning to the O2 Arena for the first time since it was called the Millenium Dome. In 2004 he used the venue to practice with his band before going out on tour. However the noise was so loud that one resident complained that Paul McCartney’s singing was upsetting his cat.
This summer Paul McCartney has been touring in the United States and he was the opening act at the Coachella Festival.
