M&S bra can only be used for eight hours

The latest in bra technology – which allows wearers to simply stick it on – has been marketed as the ideal bra for strapless and backless tops and dresses despite coming with a catch that it can only be worn for eight hours.

The stick-on strapless bra – which runs at about £20 – at Marks and Spencer is now being criticised for the manufacturer’s tag attached that indicates women should not wear the bra for more than eight hours. The warning is issued due to the silicon material that in some cases has been known to irritate the skin.

Popular UK retailer Marks and Spencer’s website praises the stick-on bra as having smoothy, moulded cups that allows the bra to be invisible under clothing while providing impeccable support. The site also states that the bra, made of 100 per cent polyester, has a silicon edge.

According to housewife Shirley Moss, the idea of the bra is ludicrous. She states that its typically 12 hours before she takes a bra off on any given day. She added that it was impractical to create a bra that, no matter what, women will have to take off after just eight hours of use.

However, a spokesperson for Marks and Spencer said that the message was simply a precautionary warning and that many users would still be able to wear the bra for the normal amount of time. He said that there had been very few complaints to the store from women who had purchased the bra. He added that silicone is a standard material used to keep most strapless bras in place.
