With the latest MotoGP driver, Marco Melandri defecting to the World Superbike Championship, MotoGP racing is quickly losing its athletes to the rapidly growing trend.
Having signed with Yamaha for the championship, Melandri will join the World Superbike Championship in 2011. The move follows on the heels of Cal Crutchlow joining Yamaha’s Tech 3 team on the MotoGP circuit next year. With Melandri moving to the super bikes arena, he will rejoin the team he debuted in MotoGP with back in 2003. Also switching sides to take part in the super bike phenomenon is Carlos Checa, Max Biaggi and Sylvain Guintoli.

Each bike differs in performance and series, the website features guides on the different types of bikes, information on how races are regulated and how one qualifies a bike as an ‘official’ super bike. The site also showcases Super Sport bikes, which are specifically designed for the racing circuit, the most prominent examples of racing bikes include the Triumph Daytona 675, the Honda CBR600RR and the Suzuki GSX-R600.
