Mark Owen marries by candle light in Scottish church
November 9, 2009
Take That’s Mark Owen finally wed his sweetheart at a small private ceremony in Scotland at the weekend. Thirty-seven-year-old Owen arrived at Cawdor Church close to Inverness accompanied by band mates Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Jason Orange for a ceremony planned for the early evening so that it could take place by candle light. Although it was meant to be a private ceremony, around five-hundred fans turned out in the freezing Scottish evening air to catch a glimpse of the stars. Owen waved to fans before entering the small church where he was made to wait a decent amount of time before his bride turned up.
Thirty-three-year-old Emma Ferguson was dressed in white when she arrived with her two bridesmaids also all in white. She too managed a wave for people who had turned out to watch before entering the church. Around fifty close friends and family attended the marriage that has allegedly been two years in preparation. The church was filled with candles and white orchids. After the vows had been taken Mark Owen held up the hand with his wedding finger on it and the couple was showered in red rose petals.
Following the service all of the guests moved to Cawdor Castle for the reception. It is not known whether ex band mate Robbie Williams attended although some are convinced they glimpsed him in the crowd. Chris Martin and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow were also rumoured to be on the guest list. Owen and Ferguson have been planning to get married since they got engaged in 2006. They are both said to have fallen in love with Cawdor and always planned to get married there.
