Leaked briefing note brings more embarrassment to BBC

September 24, 2009

Things just seem to be going from worse to worse for the BBC and its decision makers when it comes to the show Strictly Come Dancing.

Last week it stood firm on it decision not to move the show in order to avoid clashing with ITV’s X Factor and it got trounced in the ratings war. The BBC has also been under fire from a public who are slightly baffled as to why they have to pay a license fee to a corporation that does not pay any attention to what they want.  Even X Factor’s Simon Cowell has said that he didn’t care which show was moved but one of them was going to have to give in as that is what the viewing public wanted.

Now it appears that more embarrassment is on its way for BBC bosses in the form of a leaked briefing that was handed out competitors and judges on the show telling them how to answer any questions put to them about new judge Alesha Dixon and old judge Arlene Phillips.

It has now become clear why nearly everyone associated with the BBC show has parroted almost exactly the same answers whenever they have questions put to them. The leaked document covers how to answer questions about whether or not the BBC were being ageist when sacking Arlene Phillips, how to answer questions about why none of the other judges were replaced and how to answer any questions on what exactly anyone expected Alesha Dixon to bring to the table.
