Many Irish fans of X Factor finalists John and Edward Grimes were left disappointed as rumours of where the pair would be appearing on their short trip home turned out to be dead ends. Pop impresario Louis Walsh who mentors the pair also known as ‘Jedward’ was quick to deny rumours that the pair would be joining the band Westlife as they turned on the Christmas lights on Dublin’s Grafton Street. Speculation that the pair would turn up at their local supermarket in Lucan also left around two-hundred fans disappointed when they failed to materialise. Yet more fans who were paying a little too much attention to the rumour mill had gathered at the Lord Lucan pub which has been turned into a fan club dedicated to the boys each weekend they appear on the show. They too were let down.

On their first trip home since making the finals on the ITV show John and Edward did however visit Dublin’s Institute for Education where they met up with their old teachers and classmates. The pair then allegedly spent most of the rest of they day with family and friends before being whisked back to London in the evening.

Louis Walsh in a recent interview said that the Grimes boys have the potential to be a huge hit on the other side of the Atlantic. He said that their clean cut image was perfect for the American audience. The twins are due to perform the George Michael hit ‘I’m Your Man’ in front of the X Factor audience this weekend.
