January 25th is black Monday for relationships
January 25, 2010
New research by the bed making firm Silentnight suggests that today is the day when most relationships will be put to the test. Arguments are set to peak as stress over money worries, a general lack of sleep and the miserable weather causes tempers to boil over. January is traditionally a month in which relationship troubles intensify as people come down from the highs of Christmas and New Year. The research claims that on average those in a relationship will explode at each other eight times a month. However this figure almost doubles in the first month of the year with tempers most likely to flare around the 25th. Silentnight’s research predicts that a staggering nine out of ten couples will fight today and have called it Doom Day.
Today is that last Monday before pay day and seventy-two percent of respondents to the survey admitted that they were already panicking about the amount of money they spent over the festive period. Many felt that the long dark nights, the prospect of paying bills and the feeling that they were trapped in their own homes meant that there was not an awful lot to look forward to.
Legal firms are reporting a higher than usual number of calls from prospective clients inquiring about divorce. Legal representatives, Qualitylawyers.com say that enquires are at a ten year high. Relate, the counseling service is also reporting an increase in those calling them as the post Christmas blues start to well and truly kick in.
