Deluge of angry emails posted on Tiger’s website
December 16, 2009
International Management Group, the agents behind Tiger Woods has been slammed for their handling of recent revelations about the golfer’s extra marital philandering. Marketing experts are wondering how the whole situation was allowed to reach such a dire level. One of the things that is baffling them is the fact that so many abusive messages have been allowed to stay up on Tiger’s official website.
Since revelations that Tiger has been linked to at least ten women including a cocktail waitress and a couple of porn stars his site has been flooded with angry posts calling him disgusting, a laughing stock, a fraud and a butthead amongst other things. Many posts seem to centre on the fact that those who were once fans are extremely disappointed about the way the sports star has allegedly behaved towards his family.
Revelations started appearing in the world’s press following a car crash Tiger had in the early hours of the morning after an alleged fight with his wife, Elin. This opened the flood gates for an astonishing number of women all saying that they had been involved romantically with Tiger. The world’s greatest golfer has since posted an apology saying that he regrets his behavior and now wishes to take an extended break from the game to try and repair his shattered family.
U.S. Sports agent, Leigh Steinberg said that although the American public all liked a good fall from grace story about the rich and famous they were also just as partial to a good comeback tale. Steinberg said that if Tiger could start to rebuild his life with those closest to him he might just have a chance with the public.
