Coupon sharing site VoucherHub.com launches in U.K.

September 3, 2009

The creators of America’s most popular voucher website RetailMeNot.com have just launched VoucherHub.com in the U.K.

The voucher-sharing website is the first to offer the voucher-sharing model to U.K. customers without requiring that they register to the website. It is aimed at making searching for vouchers on the web faster and simpler. The site will also allow the public to rank and recommend vouchers and also to post printable vouchers up for other users.

The launch has been timed to coincide with run up to Christmas.

According to a report by internet analysts Hitwise, searches for discount vouchers over the last year have risen by nearly 50%. However traffic to the voucher sites dropped by 5% as the public is becoming more wary of opportunistic voucher sites. Many are finding that sites are offering out of date vouchers or irrelevant coupons despite being listed high on search results.

In the U.S. RetailMeNot.com quickly became the most successful voucher site by offering its customers the opportunity to share vouchers. In August this year it was getting 10 million visitors to its site and now list more than 400,000 coupons and vouchers.

It is hoped that the voucher-sharing model will work as well in the U.K.
